Stolen, recovered… and now sold for mega bucks. The sex.com saga reaches new highs…
According to a news article published on Xbiz, sex.com has been sold for the record sum of $14 million, thus setting a new record for a domain name transaction.
The name was originally registered in 1994 by Gary Kremen. It was stolen the following year by Internet crook Stephen Cohen. It took Kremen five long years to get his domain name back. In what reads like a script for TV series "24", Cohen fled the USA when a court ordered him to pay $65 million in damages to Kremen. Police finally tracked Cohen down last year in Mexico and dragged him back to the US.
