Official dates for inaugural IGF meeting announced
The first meeting of the Internet Governance Forum will be held in Greece at the end of the year.
The date for the first IGF meeting has been set. The meeting will be a four day event held from October 30th to November 2nd in Athens (Greece).
Furthermore, the UN Secretary General has announced the setting up of a small Secretariat in Geneva to assist in the convening of the IGF.
The Secretariat will be headed by Markus Kummer, former Executive Coordinator of the Secretariat of the Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG) established after phase one of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) held in Geneva in 2003.
