ICANN president Vint Cerf and ICANN CEO Paul Twomey celebrate signing the Dot ASIA registry agreement with a DotAsia organisation representative.
Last week, ICANN took advantage of its third annual conference, held in Brazil, to sign the Dot ASIA registry agreement. This official green light given to the proposal put forward by the DotAsia organisation means that the new pan-Asia domain could be launched within six to nine months. General launch will be preceded by a standard sunrise period to prioritise requests by rights holders.
