The Kenyan government is bidding to host next year's November ICANN meeting, to be held in Africa.
The Standard reports that Kenya is biding to host the African ICANN conference due to be held from November 2 to 7, 2008.
Representatives of the country's government, private sector and tourism board will work to convince ICANN to choose Kenya, through the same process that recently saw Paris clinch the June 22 to 27, 2008 ICANN meeting.
The announcement was made during local registry KENIC's annual general meeting, held on August 31st.
On July 18, 2007, KENIC reported that there were 7,000 registered .KE domain names.
