Any changes to the .EU namespace – including putting a new .EU website up - will now be felt almost immediately thanks to new technical developments.
With more than 2,600,000 domains now registered, .EU is an impressive success. But European registry EURid isn't resting on its laurels and remains hard at work to improve its Internet extension.
EURid's latest development is a dynamic update of .EU's DNS servers. " Since October 9th, they have stopped updating five times a day and begun updating instantaneously in response to changes as they occur," explains EURid.
"This switch to dynamic updates will be immediately noticeable to anyone who registers a .EU domain name, as the name (as well any website or email services attached) will be active almost instantly."
"Existing holders of .EU domain names will also benefit from the switch since any changes they make to their domains will also be effective immediately."
