Current .US registry Neustar has been granted a second management contract by the US Department of Commerce and will therefore continue to manage America's domain until 2010.
Despite stiff competition .US registry Neustar has managed to retain the .US suffix it was first awarded in June 2001.
Neustar has been the .US operator ever since the extension, previously closed and little-used, was relaunched by the US government in 2001. Neustar, who also administers .BIZ through its subsidiary Neulevel, had a contract for .US until October 25, 2007.
Neustar's new .US contract is for an initial 3 year period, beginning October 26, 2007. The contract has a provision for 2 possible one-year extensions.
