Registry Afilias adds Spanish characters to the list of localized character sets which can be registered in .INFO.
As 2008 gets underway, IDNs continue to be at the forefront of new developments in the Internet naming industry.
While Internet regulator ICANN tests full IDNs (names where even the suffix is localized), existing extension operators are working to add to the choice of IDN characters they already offer.
From January 19, Afilias will offer 7 Spanish characters in .INFO:
(á, é, í, ñ, ó, ú, and ü).
.INFO domains can already be registered using localized characters from the following languages: Danish, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Korean, Lithuanian, Latvian, Polish and Swedish.
