.ORG registry PIR has sent accredited registrars notification of a November 2008 price increase.
After .COM, .NET, .INFO and .BIZ, .ORG's registry prices are set to go up by 7%. From November 9, 2008, PIR will raise prices on registrations, renewals and transfers of .ORG domain names.
"Prior to this notification, PIR has not increased .ORG pricing since its inception in 2003," the registry outlined in a price increase notification sent to its accredited registrars such as INDOM. "From that time to now, despite price increases by other TLDs we have maintained our original wholesale fee and only passed through the increased ICANN fee starting in 2007."
