New rules opening .PRO to a much greater number of professionals are to be introduced on July 14th.
As we indicated at the beginning of the month, .PRO is about to be derestricted. New rules will help professionals the world over become eligible. "These will come into effect on July 14th," RegistryPro Director of Operations Matt Buckland told Domaines.Info.
He also confirmed that there would be no sunrise or other priority registration system to accompany the new rules, a logical decision as this is not a new extension launch.
Applicants will need to provide evidence of their professional status, through affiliation with a local professional organisation for example.
Under the new rules, .PRO registrants will be required to agree to the registry's terms of use, and to re-sign them annually. This also applies to existing .PRO registrants, who will have to agree to the terms of use at renewal time.
