Next week's Paris meeting will see a new initiative launched: a free shuttle service designed to help meeting attendees get to a selection of must-see places distributed around the meeting venue.
Next week, ICANN is having its first ever international meeting in Paris. We just had to celebrate. And what better way to welcome participants than by helping them get around this beautiful city of ours?
That was the rationale behind the first official ICANN meeting shuttle service. Specially branded shuttles (they'll be easy to spot outside the venue hotel) will take any badge carrying meeting attendee to a selected number of unmissable places in Paris.
These were chosen so that they wouldn't be too far from the Méridien Montparnasse hotel where the ICANN meeting is being held. The idea being to have shuttles making frequent and short journeys so that everyone gets to enjoy them.
Why do this? Simply because as both Parisians and members of the domain name industry, we're thrilled to have ICANN and we want the international naming community to feel as welcome as possible and to remember this meeting for a long time to come.
So we hope you enjoy the shuttle service. Remember that it's a first, so be tolerant :-) and don't hesitate to let us know what you think. You never know, this thing might start a trend for all ICANN meetings…
• A free service for all INDOM and DOMAINES.INFO's official shuttle service is free for all registered participants of the Paris ICANN meeting. The service will run afternoons from Sunday June 22 to Thursday June 26. Shuttles will be stationed outside the Méridien Montparnasse venue hotel.
