With the first round of new TLD applications set to open in September 2009, more potential applicants are making themselves known. One is .HAMBURG for the German city of Hamburg.

CityTLDs are all the rage at the moment. After Berlin, Paris, New York or London, Hamburg is the latest city to come out of the closet and declare itself a potential new TLD applicant.
The future .HAMBURG aims to create an online community for people linked to Hamburg. A dedicated website is up and the people behind the .HAMBURG initiative are hard at work to gain more and more support and be ready to submit their proposal to ICANN next year.
